Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

Twenty acres of beautiful gardens just outside Abbotsbury village.

Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens were established in 1765. The first Countess of Illchester used the garden for her nearby castle. In 1990 the gardens felt the full force if the English weather and so commenced a major restoration project. The gardens cover an area of 20 acres and contain many wild and exotic plants and flowers.

The gardens host many events during the year. In October the gardens come alive for Halloween and many visitors dress up to see the floodlighting of the gardens. Nearby we recommend you visit Abbotsbury Swannery and Abbotsbury Childrens Farm. These two attractions are great fun and have many activities for kids.
