Walks in Bournemouth
Bournemouth Lower Gardens are situated in lovely surroundings just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and main square. Located within the gardens you’ll see the Bournemouth Eye. The huge tethered helium balloon ride enables visitors to view Bournemouth from a height of 150 meters. The gondola can take up to 28 people, with disabled access and has unspoilt 360 panoramic views. The gardens also have a small stream flowing through them called the River Bourne. The River flows from Coy Pond in Poole into the English Channel. Visitors visiting around the months of May / June can often be treated to seeing families of ducklings. Other attractions within the gardens include the ever-popular mini golf course. This 18-hole small course is opposite the Bandstand and is a great way to pass an hour. The Bandstand and small green area is used throughout the year to host many events. Live music is a popular feature of the Town and the Bandstand is used almost on a weekly basis during the main summer holiday months for various performances. Continuing your walk will lead you to the historic Bournemouth Pier and the stunning blue flag beaches.
